Sometimes we stock up on fresh herbs for a particular dish, but end up using only half of them. However, that does not mean that the rest should go to waste. In this post, we give you four suggestions on how to creatively use any leftover herbs you might have.
Make your own herb butter
Homemade herb butter is both easy to make and a guaranteed hit with your guests. And then it suits almost any occasion – from steaks to summer potatoes and freshly baked bread.
Homemade smoothies with fresh herbs
Herbs in smoothies are a hit. In addition to adding extra flavour, they also contain high amounts of vitamins and antioxidants that benefit both body and health.

Warm up with a homemade herb tea
Tea brewed on fresh herbs contain lots of vitamins and antioxidants, and is thus an easy way to nurture your body with the healing properties of nature. Use your leftover herbs to make a nice, homebrewed herb tea for those cold winter months.
Freeze your herbs and save them for another time
If you happen to end up not using up all your fresh herbs, you can always freeze them and save them for another time. A nice tip is to freeze them as little ice cubes covered in a good olive oil. In this way, you will always have your favourite herbs at hand when you need them. In addition, freezing them in olive oil will minimise the risk of the herbs taking damage and turning brown in the freezer.
