Legro was founded when Tove and Erling Høgholt planted the very first seeds of their family-owned business on an empty field in March 1958. Back then, a four-acre field and an unheated 400 m2 greenhouse laid the foundation with the growing of radishes, berries, cabbage, gherkins, salad, tomatoes and leeks. The business has experienced steady growth since then, and in 1988, we started growing live and fresh herbs in pots.
Today, the sons, Lars and Niels, have joined the adventure, and the three men now share the management responsibilities. The business now expands over 30,000 m2 and have grown to a staff of about 65 employees from seven nations. The diversity grows, and the employees are all offered Danish language lessons and have access to our own on-site sports facilities.
Our effort with our work environment has been assigned a green smiley by the Labor Inspection.
